STYL Men's Tournament Information

Tournament Format
Teams will be placed in a four team bracket. Every team in each bracket will play each other; thus each team is guaranteed 3 games.  Brackets and games will be determined at the mandatory Captain’smeeting prior to the tournament date.  The two teams with the best records in each bracket will advance to the quarter final round, where the top seed in each bracket will play the second seed in the other bracket in their conference.  In case of a tie, tie-breakers will be applied in the following order to determine the advancing team

Game Format
•First Round: Two 13 minute halves, where clocks will be running with the exception of the last 1 minute of the second half. Half time will be 2 minutes. Each team is permitted 2 twenty second time out per half.
• Quarter Finals & Semi-Finals: Two 13 minute halves, where clocks will be running with the exception of the last 2 minutes of the second half. Half time will be 2 minutes. Each team is permitted to take 1 full time out and 2 twenty second time outs per half.
• Finals: Two 14 minute halves, where clocks will be running with the exception of the last 2 minutes of the second half. During the last 2 minutes of the second half, the clock will stop at each whistle. Half-time will be 5 minutes. Each team is permitted to take 1 full time out and 2 twenty second time outs per half.
• Overtime: Duration of overtime is 2 minutes. Each team is permitted to take 1 twenty second time out per overtime period.

Officials have the discretion to stop the game clock at any time.  Teams will be assessed a technical foul (1 shot and loss of possession) if an illegal time out is called.  Time outs not used do not carry over to the next half or overtime.

STYL Women's Tournament Information

Tournament Format

Four teams will participate in the STYL Women's Tournament. Two teams will be placed in conference A and the next two teams will be placed in Conference B. Two games are guaranteed. (One game in the regular season and an additional game in the next round). Semi Finals will be the winner of Conference A against the loser in Conference B. The second Semi-Final is the winner of Conference B against the loser in Conference A. The winners from the Semi-Final match will play in the STYL 09 Women's Tournament Finals.

 

Game Format
•First Round: Two 10 minute halves, where clocks will be running with the exception of the last 1 minute of the second half. Half time will be 2 minutes. Each team is permitted 2 twenty second time out per half.
• Semi-Finals and Finals: Two 12 minute halves, where clocks will be running with the exception of the last 2 minutes of the second half. Half time will be 5 minutes. Each team is permitted to take 1 full time out and 2 twenty second time outs per half.
• Overtime: Duration of overtime is 2 minutes. Each team is permitted to take 1 twenty second time out per overtime period.
